Dreams Essay for Grade 10, Grade 12, and Other Grades
As old as humanity itself are dreams. Actually, they are a psychological phenomenon. Dreams can only be seen by humans. The reason we dream while we sleep, say psychologists, is that while we are physically asleep, our minds are awake. Our waking experiences are projected into our dreams. The mind awakens earlier than the body and requires less sleep than the body. As soon as it wakes up, it starts to incorporate waking events into dreams.

Sometimes the events in dreams are real, and other times the experiences are jumbled up. Some dreams are incredibly romantic and lovely. This explains why some regions are referred regarded as “Dreamlands” in everyday speech. One is quite happy with what they have observed when they wake up early in the morning. However, some dreams are incredibly frightful. They’re referred to as “nightmares.” Others who are sleeping nearby him are also dozing off. He suddenly lets forth a horrifying yell. He startlesly stands up. He claims to have seen a snake or an adversary in his dream. He was about to get bitten by the snake.

Dreams can occur for a variety of causes.
First, the memory component of dreams was valued by ancient thinkers. We visualise the actual objects in life with the aid of our memories. According to Aristotle, objects viewed with the eyes on the body leave an impression that causes dreams. Plato equated dreaming with the mind’s everyday activities. The elderly folks believed that the dreamer was visited by the ghosts of the dead. Old-fashioned ideas about human nature have been disproved by contemporary discoveries.

Second, Freud, a prominent modern psychologist, offered his own interpretation of dreams. His book, “The Interpretation of Dreams,” holds a significant position in the field. He provides four justifications for dreams. First, outside objects in the dream annoy the dreamer. He could get bitten by an insect, hear thunder, or hear the alarm go off. These are the outside factors that impede our ability to sleep and cause dreaming.

Thirdly, the dreamer’s body or mind are affected within. It occurs when he has a medical or mental condition. Dreams appear in this unstable state.

Fourthly, when one of our five senses is off, we may dream.

Finally, the concepts we have stored in our minds sometimes surface as dreams. According to Freud, sometimes our desires are fulfilled in dreams. In our unconscious mind, these unmet aspirations are stored, and at night, they surface as nightmares. These wishes take on a covert form. An old man may dream of being a child, or a beggar may imagine himself to be a royal.

There are some dreams that predict the future. These are the aspirations of the righteous and decent. These were Prophet Jacob’s dreams (A.S). The prophet Ibrahim (A.S.) and the Egyptian king. The sun and the stars were seen bending down before Prophet Jacob (A.S). In his dream, the Egyptian king saw both seven skinny and seven plump cows. Prophet Joseph interpreted this dream (A.S). He explained that although the seven plump cows meant for rich and prosperous years, the seven lean cows were for seven years of adversity.
